Dr Musa’s is board certified in Pediatric Critical care medicine. She is a Pediatric Cardiac intensivist at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Her background ignited a passion for global health and her scholarly activity has focused on education, care of children with congenital heart disease  and capacity building in pediatric critical care in low resource setting notably Sub-Saharan Africa where she has been involved in training Pediatric critical care fellows in Ethiopia.  She has taught early recognition of the critically ill child through various courses like PFCCS, PEARS and Pediatric Basics in Many Countries and has been an invited speaker in many International scientific conferences. She represented the Society for Critical Care Medicine on the Board of the World Federation of Pediatric Intensive and Critical Care Medicine and is currently the Co-chair of the International committee for Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society (PCICS).  At SCH she represents the section of Pediatric cardiac critical care on the transplant committee and has taken an interest in advocating for the needs of critically ill heart failure and transplant patients with an eye towards hemodynamic monitoring. She has also been involved in neuromonitoring in the cardiac ICU initiating with neurology continuous EEG monitoring in the cardiac ICU in neonates who have undergone cardiopulmonary bypass.  She was inducted as a fellow into the American College of Critical Care Medicine and has received multiple awards. She is also the author of many peer reviewed articles in her field.
