Corie McDaniel completed her medical school at Midwestern University and went on to complete her residency in Pediatrics at Advocate Health Children's Hospital. She is now a board-certified pediatric hospitalist with Seattle Children's Hospital and the University of Washington. 

Dr. McDaniel's research centers around improving outcomes for children hospitalized in non-children's hospitals. She has collaborated nationally with hospitals to improve quality and timeliness of care, with an emphasis in both implementation and deimplementation measures. She led a multi-site international collaborative with 109 participating hospitals on febrile infants (REVISE II) through the AAP's Pediatric Acute and Critical Care Quality Network. Dr. McDaniel was then awarded the Seattle Children's Research Insitute's Clinical Research Scholars Program through which she developed the PHASE measure, a parent-reported quality measure to capture the hospital-to-home transition experience for families. 

Currently, Dr. McDaniel has a K08 funded through AHRQ to investigate hospital, community, and system-level factors associated with sustainability of inpatient pediatric care in rural hospitals and she is completing her MPH in Health Policy through the University of Washington. 

Dr. McDaniel sits on the Editorial Board for Hospital Pediatrics and the advisory committee for the Pediatric Acute and Critical Care Quality Network. She enjoys mentoring other faculty and trainees in study design, specifically involving big data, psychometrics and survey design, and deimplementation.
