Clinical, Research and/or Teaching Responsibilities

Dr. Gillenwater is a primary care, general pediatrician who precepts residents and practices at the UW Neighborhood Clinic in Kent/Des Moines as well as at Harborview Medical Center (HMC) in Seattle. She also attends at the HMC Foster Care Clinic. Prior to joining the University of Washington, Dr. Gillenwater carried out research on infectious diseases and child growth and nutrition in several developing countries. Her main interests are integrating primary pediatric care and public health. Clinically, she is particularly interested in adoption medicine, asthma, preventive care, STIs and infectious disease.
