Dr. Smith attends in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Seattle Children’s Hospital and in the Pediatric Trauma and Burn Intensive Care Unit at Harborview Medical Unit. Dr. Smith’s research interests are in lung biology. Dr. Smith has investigated the role of lung development in ventilator-induced lung injury and is developing clinical pediatric ARDS studies investigating the use of esophageal manometry and electrical impedance tomography.
