Professional Bio

Clinical Interests: Dr. Strobel is interested in applying evidence-based medicine to infants admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit to provide equitable care. She is focused on improving outcomes for infants at risk for intestinal failure and sits on multiple committees regarding this population. In addition, Dr. Strobel focuses on supporting parents in providing human milk for their child.

Scholarly Focus: Dr. Strobel has a background in clinical and translational research focused on nutrition in both the preterm and congenital gastrointestinal anomaly population. She is also interested in examining nutrition using modern technologies such as body composition and the microbiome. She currently is examining the properties of mothers' own milk and its roles in vulnerable neonates.

Administration/Education Roles: Dr. Strobel is the Director of the MIND group (Microbial Interactions with Nutrition and Development), a research focus group interested in the microbiome and nutrition in vulnerable infants. Dr. Strobel is also involved in the CHNC Intestinal Failure working group.
