Sandpoint, Idaho

Sand PointSandpoint, ID is a picturesque community nestled at the base of the Selkirk Mountains in Northern Idaho, 60 miles from the Canadian border. The population of the town is 10,000, with about 50,000 in the county. Boundary County (just north of us) has a total county population of 10,000. Northern Idaho has 4 distinct seasons with many possibilities for outdoor experiences in each season. We are on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille (pronounced pon-der-ay), one of the deepest lakes in the country having been sounded to 1200 feet and has many shore line and water activities available. Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort is 9 miles out of town, and as a destination resort it has 6 chairlifts and 2500 vertical feet drop, with groomed cross country ski trails as well. There are bike trails, hiking trails, rock climbing, and camping within easy access from town. Sandpoint is a very eclectic community with many different avenues for the resident to immerse themselves in small town culture.

Sandpoint Pediatrics

Sandpoint Pediatrics was started in 1992, and the Bonners Ferry office was added in 1994. We currently have 3 full time pediatricians who share call, 3 part-time pediatricians, and a nurse practitioner, covering the two clinics.

Bonner General Hospital

Bonner General Hospital is a 25 bed Level I hospital with 400 births a year. As you can see from the numbers we are truly a rural pediatric setting. We see a myriad of acute care, well care, and chronic care patients.

We stand on the lands of the Coast Salish peoples, whose ancestors have resided here since time immemorial. Many Indigenous peoples thrive in this place—alive and strong.
